Role Overview

Are you seeking a rewarding opportunity within Gloucestershire Highways? Join our Street Lighting team and contribute to the highway authority's mission to oversee and enhance the street lighting assets situated on public roads.

Gloucestershire is home to approximately 70,000 street lighting assets, spanning various terrains including the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean. The County Council is in search of a Junior Engineer – Innovative Projects to manage the technical assessments for third-party street lighting design proposals and conduct on-site evaluations of new street lighting installations by external parties for council adoption.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual with knowledge of technical assessment processes for third-party street lighting design submissions, equipment specifications, and electrical installations. You should possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the provision of technical approvals for street lighting designs and performing inspections of new installations. You will be expected to work independently as well as collaboratively within a larger team, delivering exceptional customer service through various communication methods.
