Optical and Quantum Networks Researcher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering to join our team at the University of Bristol. The successful candidate will have a strong research focus on Optical and Quantum Networks, with a proven track record of securing research funding and developing innovative teaching methods.
About the RoleThe Associate Professor will be responsible for conducting world-leading research in Optical and Quantum Networks, with a focus on advancing the design and solutions of classical optical and quantum networks. They will also be expected to undertake teaching and project supervision duties at the undergraduate, MSc, and PhD levels, with a particular focus on our BEng/MEng in Computer Science and Electronics Engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct world-leading research in Optical and Quantum Networks
- Develop and deliver innovative teaching in Optical and Quantum Networks
- Undertake project supervision duties at the undergraduate, MSc, and PhD levels
- Secure research funding from a range of sources
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a strong track record of research and teaching experience. They will also have a clear and focused vision for future research that aligns with and enhances the activities of the High-Performance Networks research group.
