We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at CV-Library, working on a variety of construction and civil engineering projects. As part of a dynamic team, you will manage the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring cost control and profitability while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tenders for construction and civil engineering projects.
- Conduct thorough cost analysis and risk assessments to support informed decision-making.
- Manage and monitor project costs from inception to completion, ensuring cost efficiency and effective resource allocation.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Provide regular financial reports to project managers and clients, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial aspects of projects, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with project teams, offering guidance on commercial matters and contractual issues, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations, contracts, and health & safety standards, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction and civil engineering sectors, with a strong understanding of cost management and contract negotiation.
- Excellent knowledge of contract law, standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT), and construction regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams, to ensure effective collaboration and project success.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as MS Excel, cost estimation, and project management software, to support efficient project delivery.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of construction principles and practices.
- Full UK driving license, with the ability to travel to project sites as required.
