Robotics Production Engineer

Melbreck Technical Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to join their team in Milton Keynes. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for exploring, researching, and implementing appropriate automation and robotics solutions into manufacturing facilities to support the manufacture of the company's existing and new product range.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of robotic applications, robotic programming, and maintenance capabilities. Experience with Lean/Six Sigma in the manufacturing field is desirable. Excellent analytical skills, combined with good negotiation and conflict management skills, are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:- Engineering review of all customer orders.
- Generating and maintaining accurate BOM and works order information on the company manufacturing system.
- Communication and support of drawing issues/changes with production.
- Administration of controlled builds and maintenance of the accuracy of Manufacturing BOM's.
- Review, control, and implementation of effective and efficient improvements to engineering specifications.
- Hands-on analysis, problem-solving, and development of all production processes, methods, and engineering specifications.
- Maximization of the effectiveness and efficiency of all operations and engineering specifications.
- Development of cellular manufacturing/flow line/single piece flow principles through each of the product/supply areas in line with the Company Standards.
- Development and maintenance of the practices necessary to achieve excellent standards through 5S and Visual Factory.
- Assistance with the specification/set-up and commissioning of new robotic equipment and facilities.
- Initial program generation and adjustments on existing products.
- Concept design, planning, sourcing, and implementation of automation solutions.
- Control and monitoring of company automated weld integrity.
- Delivery of requirements based on control, systems, and procedures of all MIG, MAG, GMAW, and TIG welding processes and provision of technical assistance to all associated departments with welding matters.
- Integration and implementation of new processes and drive improvement activities on existing processes.
- Overall direction and control of all MIG/MAG and TIG welding processes and associated documentation.
- Development and implementation of internal working standards, documentation, and performance reports.
- Assistance in the development and integration of automated/robotic welding processes.
- Implementation and control of a stock management system/routine of welding spares.
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics/Engineering or 5 years relevant experience.
- Good understanding of robotic applications.
- Robotic programming and maintenance capability.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma in the manufacturing field preferable.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with good negotiation and conflict management skills with proficiency in computers would be beneficial.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
Working hours for the role are 08:00 – 16:30, Monday – Friday (40 hours basic).
