Position Overview

Owen Daniels Consultancy is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians to become integral members of a dynamic and expanding team within a high-energy manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be tasked with:

  • Performing both electrical and mechanical repairs to minimize operational disruptions across the manufacturing facility.
  • Executing scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with established timelines.
  • Providing support in training initiatives for team members.
  • Engaging in complex project work, including machine overhauls and refurbishments as necessary.
Operational Duties

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing the strategic maintenance plan set forth by senior engineering personnel, focusing on both proactive and reactive measures.
  • Utilizing root cause analysis methodologies and 5S principles to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conducting routine Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks.
  • Documenting all maintenance activities in an electronic reporting system for accurate record-keeping.
  • Training operators and technical staff in First Line and Planned Maintenance tasks as required.
  • Collaborating with other departments and maintenance teams to ensure seamless communication across shifts.
  • Coordinating with equipment suppliers for spare parts procurement and troubleshooting requiring external support.
  • Overseeing the training of apprentices in maintenance practices.
  • Participating in monthly meetings to reinforce the importance of meeting customer and regulatory standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality procedures and guidelines to meet organizational objectives.
  • Promptly addressing any quality concerns raised by customers.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proven track record of being proactive, self-driven, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a machine tool, assembly, or testing production environment.
  • The ability to interpret Pneumatic, Electrical, and Hydraulic schematics.
  • Multi-disciplinary skills with hands-on experience in CNC and PLC troubleshooting and repair, along with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
Desirable Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with Siemens S7 PLC and CNC controls, as well as Automation and Robotics.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc PLC and CNC systems.
  • Knowledge of conventional and ultrasonic cleaning processes.
  • A recognized engineering apprenticeship.
  • Proficiency in standard MS Office applications.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise and collaborative spirit, making it essential for candidates to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
