£54,793-£60,326 (based on skills and experience)

Role Overview:
The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in shaping the engineering operating framework and governance systems. This includes the development of policies and processes for the design and development phases of the program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing an internal assurance framework.
  • Collaborating with the Airworthiness Team to facilitate design organization approvals and the assignment of technical roles.
  • Serving as a primary contact for engineering governance between the joint business entity and the UK industry Lead Systems Integrator.
  • Working closely with the COO Central Engineering Governance team to exchange best practices and provide support.
  • Leading a small team of engineers, overseeing their performance and development.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:
  • Degree in a STEM field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in Engineering Governance within Defence programs.
  • Expertise in developing and applying engineering processes, tools, and methodologies that align with governance requirements.
  • Experience in managing a small team, including task management and performance evaluations.

Desirable:
  • Familiarity with engineering governance principles from diverse sectors.
  • Experience working with external customers, such as the UK MOD.

About the FCAS Team:
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Global Combat Air Programme/Future Combat Air System Acquisition Programme. You will support UK industry and international partners in the development and deployment of the Engineering Operating Framework and Governance System.

The ideal candidate will be proactive and collaborative, possessing strong communication skills to effectively address Engineering Governance issues with both specialists and non-specialists.
