Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at GSL Education in Redditch. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher and multi-agency teams in devising learning and care plans to promote the child's full potential.
  • Manage triggers of challenging behavior while supporting the child academically, emotionally, and socially.
  • Set clear boundaries and work collaboratively with the support staff to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in a support setting, particularly those with challenging behaviors.
  • Knowledge and experience of writing reports and contributing to care plans.
  • Desirable qualifications and training in areas such as Team Teach, Mappa, Nappi, or Pillars.
  • A clear Enhanced DBS registration and ability to provide a full career history and two professional references.
