About this Opportunity

This exciting role is within the Personalised Experiences and Communications (PEC) platform at Lloyds Banking Group. As the Cloud Engineer, you'll lead, direct, and shape approaches to solving technical challenges and translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish cloud patterns and principles for the team in line with the Group's methodologies.
  • Focus on cloud elements of solutions, helping to deploy software regularly and smoothly while continuously improving and developing processes.
  • Be responsible for the build and support of shared hosting services such as Kubernetes, Ingress/Egress, Networking patterns, Certificates, and data resources.
  • Focus on cloud engineering elements of the software engineering role, helping to deploy software regularly and smoothly in the cloud while continuously improving and developing processes.
  • Help learn and implement the best use of DevOps tools and cloud resources, such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Harness, and maintain the hosting platform.
  • Create and improve routes to live with automation, including blue/green and canary strategies.
  • Configure and improve observability controls.
  • Prove scalability, resilience, and security controls.

Requirements

  • Display broad and deep technical experience with a passion for engineering excellence.
  • Have a solid understanding of cloud delivery from a DevOps, Cloud, or Software engineering background.
  • Have strong Cloud Engineering and DevOps exposure, preferably GCP.
  • Have proven experience and understanding of cloud-native solutions.
  • Have proven experience configuring and running production workloads in Kubernetes.
  • Have experience with CI/CD and IaC tools like Jenkins, Terraform, Sonar, Nexus, Git, Spinnaker, Harness.
  • Have a strong understanding and experience of Observability, SRE, DevSecOps, and FinOps.
  • Have a good understanding of cloud networking and connectivity patterns.
  • Have a good understanding of key data tooling such as Kafka, BigTable, DataProc, BigQuery, etc.
