Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team at Dorset County Hospital. As a specialist in ENT and Head and Neck, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in managing complex communication and swallowing disorders.

Main Duties
  • Provide diagnosis, assessment, treatment, and management to patients with voice and/or swallowing problems secondary to an ENT diagnosis.
  • Work as a member of the Macmillan Cancer Therapy Team, providing diagnosis, assessment, treatment, and management to patients with communication and/or swallowing problems secondary to a cancer diagnosis.
  • Develop and participate in training programmes across acute and community MDTs.
Person Specification
  • Essential criteria: Degree in Speech & Language Therapy recognised by RCSLT, Registered with H.C.P.C, Achieved dysphagia competencies to specialist level, Valid driving licence, Evidence of relevant CPD.
  • Desirable criteria: Experience in the management of complex communication/swallowing disorders, Experience in carrying own caseload independently, Experience of working in the area of cancer, Experience in developing and delivering training packages internally and externally to SALT and wider MDT.
