About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Penderels Trust. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with Autism and Learning Difficulties to live a fulfilling life.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support and/or prompt with personal care, including toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, and getting dressed.
  • Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
  • Support and/or prompt the individual to attend appointments, hospital/doctors, and other activities.
  • Support with food shopping and meal preparation.
  • Encourage socialisation and participation in activities.
  • Develop a good and trusting working relationship with the individual.

The ideal candidate will be patient, supportive, and caring, with good listening skills and the ability to provide non-judgemental emotional support. Previous experience is not essential, but a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities is required.

Requirements
  • Be honest, reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
  • Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Have good communication skills and be able to follow instructions accurately.
