Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:
- Providing a thorough pharmacy service to patients.

Job Responsibilities
Communication and Relationship Skills:
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with pharmacy team members, ward staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to deliver services to wards.
- Communicate effectively with partners, including primary care and other hospitals.
- Address pharmacy-related inquiries or refer them to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain clear communication with patients, their families, and caregivers.
Analytical and Judgement Skills:
- Assist in training pharmacy staff on medicines optimization processes, including assessing their competencies.
- Conduct medicines reconciliations for patients and provide counseling, reporting any compliance issues.
Planning and Organizational Skills:
- Help organize the weekly schedule for clinical technicians and assistants.
- Manage daily reports and workload for the clinical team.
- Act as an Educational Supervisor for pharmacy staff pursuing qualifications.
Patient Care:
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Organize medication arrangements for complex cases, including counseling.
- Coordinate with external organizations to ensure safe ongoing care for patients.
- Promote safe prescribing and medication administration practices at the ward level.
Policy and Service Development:
- Comply with and promote all relevant policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of clinical services.
Financial and Physical Development:
- Be aware of the value of medicinal products and the importance of cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in cost improvement initiatives.
Human Resources:
- Commit to ongoing education and training for staff.
- Supervise students during their rotations and accreditations.

- Utilize the Trust's Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system effectively.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with service needs and Trust policy.
Research and Development:
- Engage in departmental projects aimed at improving services and processes.
- Participate in audits to assess the quality and effectiveness of pharmacy services.
Professional Development:
- Maintain personal and professional growth to enhance contributions to the pharmacy service.
- Ensure current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
