Overnight Veterinary Care Nurse (Salary from £35, DOE) - CVS Group Plc

We are a dedicated small animal orthopaedic referral facility seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our compassionate team in providing exceptional overnight care for our hospitalized patients.

Practice Overview:

As a specialist referral center, we focus on delivering the highest standards of clinical care in a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the overnight management of patients who are either awaiting or recovering from orthopaedic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nursing care for pre-operative and post-operative patients
  • Monitoring and documenting patient recovery following surgical interventions
  • Evaluating and managing pain, including the administration of post-operative analgesics
  • Engaging with clients to provide updates on their pets' well-being
  • Preparing accommodation for the following day
  • Conducting routine cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Managing laundry duties
  • Sterilizing and organizing surgical instruments
  • Maintaining cleanliness in surgical areas as required
  • Updating patient records
  • Restocking supplies as necessary

Working Hours: Monday – Wednesday, 7 PM – 8 AM. We pride ourselves on fostering a positive work atmosphere, offering in-house training and funding for external continuing professional development (CPD).

This position is a fixed-term contract covering maternity leave for a duration of 12 months.

Qualifications: Previous experience in nursing surgical patients within a small animal practice is essential, and familiarity with referral clinics is preferred.
