About the Role

We are seeking two full-time Peer Support and Wellbeing Practitioners to join our team at Solent Mind. As a Peer Support Practitioner, you will work with our NHS colleagues and other stakeholders to provide peer support services within local communities, enhancing mental health care at both primary and secondary levels.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with individuals in one-to-one and group settings to support their recovery and access to necessary support.
  • Supporting people to develop and use skills and techniques to enhance their wellbeing through short-term goal-focused support.
  • Collaborating with colleagues from across primary care networks, Solent NHS Trust Mental Health teams, and external agencies to identify individuals who may benefit from peer support and plan work accordingly.
  • Working closely with other team members and services to support individuals using the service in a collaborative, person-centred way.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a key understanding of the role of peer support in mental health and how to use your lived experience. You may have experience delivering group workshops or be willing to undergo learning and development to achieve this part of the role. You will feel confident about delivering 1:1 peer support in the community and managing a set number of caseload.

You will have the ability to manage time and competing priorities, take responsibility for your own workload and accountabilities, and be passionate about mental health and supporting your colleagues.
