Manufacturing Machinist

Job Title: Manufacturing Machinist
This role involves the machining of parts for use in electrical motors and generators. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience working within a machining environment using CNC turning, grinding, and drilling skills while working to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a multitude of hand tools, including screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, torque wrenches, jigs, fixtures, pneumatic tools, and other manual hand tools.
- Operate machinery such as winding machines, hydraulic presses, lathes, and other equipment.
- Carry out grinding and operate NC-controlled machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and documentation.
- Measure own work and self-inspect products using bench electrical equipment and mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose and repair product faults.
- Work within Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to grind and operate relevant machinery.
- Milling and manual turning experience is preferable.
- Some CNC capability is desirable.
- Experience of working within a high-quality control/compliance environment.
- Ability to manually handle products weighing up to 25kg using lifting aids where appropriate.
- Good observational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Good manual dexterity.
- A flexible approach and a willingness to learn additional manufacturing skills.
- Working knowledge of PC operations, including Windows, Email, and digital document access.
- Previous interactions with SAP or equivalent ERP systems are preferred.
- Experience of working within a team and able to work independently as required.
Working Hours: 08:00 to 16:45 Monday to Thursday, 08:00 to 12:00 Friday.
From time to time, the successful candidate may be required to perform other tasks that are not included in the above description but are within the capabilities of the individual, and where necessary, training will be given.
