Financial Controller

The JAQ Group is a leading e-commerce group in the UK, with a strong focus on growth and expansion. We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team based in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and maintain all financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank, fixed assets, inventory, and general ledger.
  • Implement financial controls to ensure group compliance and accuracy.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Implement and monitor stock control processes, working with site leaders to provide granular real-time analysis of stock.
  • Prepare and contribute to the annual budgeting process and develop rolling forecasts to support strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, including UK and EU VAT, TSS regulations, and corporation tax filings.
  • Manage the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Continuously review and improve financial processes and controls, with a focus on automation and efficiency.
  • Lead and develop a small operational finance team, providing mentorship and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Requirements:
  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified with a strong technical accounting background.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team, with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrates experience in streamlining financial processes and implementing best practices.
  • Proficiency in Excel for financial modelling and analysis, with experience in using financial software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of financial management.
  • Proactively takes ownership and can prioritise effectively, whilst being flexible to changing demands within a fast-paced business environment.
