About the Role

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is seeking a highly skilled Internal Quality Assurer to join our team. As an Internal Quality Assurer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and standards of our IOSH AO award.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the IOSH Academy to ensure that assessors are fully briefed and carry out their roles appropriately.
  • Monitor the Study Centre's assessment practice and procedures by conducting interim and summative sampling.
  • Review learners at different stages of the programme delivery and assessment process.
  • Evaluate the quality of formative guidance on assessment.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of assessment planning.
  • Ensure standards are maintained and assessment decisions are consistent and standardised.
  • Ensure the appropriate conduct of assessments (internal and external).
  • Implement IOSH AO action points within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure accurate and secure record-keeping of assessment results.
  • Implement the Study Centre's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.
  • Provide feedback to assessors, the Study Centre primary IOSH AO contact, and the IOSH AO EQA role.
  • Uphold the quality and standards of the IOSH AO award.
  • Conduct a minimum of two standardisation meetings per year.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of quality systems, assessments, and processes.
  • Knowledge of assessment and training principles.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the OSH sector.

  • Excellent organisation and planning skills.
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Robust IT skills.
  • Excellent record-keeping and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Self-assurance and ability to confidently ask questions.
Education and Qualifications
  • RQF Level 4 IQA Award (Essential).
  • Relevant subject expert, qualified to at least Level 6 in the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Sector or equivalent experience (Essential).
  • Hold Grad IOSH or Chartered Membership status with IOSH (Desirable).
