About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Receptionist and Administrator at The Muswell Hill Practice. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients and ensuring the smooth running of our reception area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Front Desk Operations
    • Manage patient appointments, bookings, and cancellations
    • Handle patient inquiries and provide information on practice services
    • Process payments for non-NHS services
  • Administrative Support
    • Manage patient records and medical correspondence
    • Scanning and filing documents
    • Assist with data entry and coding
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work closely with the Practice Manager and Lead Receptionist to ensure seamless operations
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors
    • Respond to patient complaints and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Health and Safety
    • Adhere to practice health and safety policies and procedures
    • Report any potential risks or hazards to the Practice Manager
  • Confidentiality and Data Protection
    • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion
    • Comply with practice policies and procedures for data protection

Requirements

  • Education
    • GCSE or equivalent
  • Experience
    • Customer service experience (1 year minimum)
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management systems

Working Hours

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a rota system of morning and evening shifts

Salary

£11.95 per hour, rising to £12.35 per hour following successful completion of probation

Holiday Entitlement

4 working weeks per year, rising to 5 weeks after 5 years
