Overview of Company and Job Title:
A leading scientific and engineering organization, located in Scotland, is seeking a skilled Electronics and Controls Systems Engineer to join their Technology and Design Engineering team. The successful candidate will work at the company's high-tech Research and Design facility, supporting various industries such as clinical research, academia, pharmaceuticals, and biopharmaceuticals.
Salary on Offer:
The salary for the Electronics and Controls Systems Engineer position is £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on skillset and experience. Visa sponsorship is available for UK-based candidates.
The Role:
The successful Electronics and Controls Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the company's scientific products, technology, and embedded systems. The candidate will work within a well-supported multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Skills:
- 1-2+ years industry experience
- Experience of controls software/electronics design-focused roles
- Software programming in C or C++
- Experience of MATLAB, Simulink
- Embedded communication protocols – SPI, I2C, USB, UART, Ethernet, etc.
- PCB design & schematic capture
- Embedded systems development, debugging, and trouble-shooting
- Self-motivated, innovative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Great teamwork and communication skills
