About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent position working on-site. The role will work alongside an Assistant Buyer, reporting to a Procurement Manager, with responsibilities including:
- Raising orders based on sales forecasts
- Expediting goods according to delivery dates
- Negotiating costs with suppliers
- Ensuring the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is accurate and up-to-date
- Liaising with customers and the planning team regarding orders
- Onboarding new suppliers
- Regular visits to local suppliers
- Occasional visits to international suppliers
- Some strategic procurement in the future
About the Business
Nigel Wright Group's Supply Chain and Procurement Team is delighted to be supporting an innovative design and manufacturing company to recruit a Procurement Specialist. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to pursue a Certified in Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) qualification after a probationary period.
About the Individual
The successful Procurement Specialist will be someone who:
- Has excellent communication skills
- Displays strong attention to detail
- Can work effectively in a team
- Is able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Is keen to build a career in purchasing
- Has at least 2-3 years of experience in purchasing
- Has a manufacturing background, which would be beneficial
