Key Responsibilities:
As the Lead Chemotherapy Nurse, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing expert guidance in SACT, along with education and support.
  • Ensuring the cancer care team delivers high-quality services while adhering to safety regulations.
  • Directly managing and supervising the chemotherapy nursing team.
  • Enhancing practices related to the assessment of health and wellbeing in cancer services.
  • Administering SACT and non-SACT treatments to patients.
  • Contributing to the development of strategies and policies for cancer services.
  • Leading quality improvement initiatives and offering support within cancer services.
  • Overseeing ongoing training and monitoring in line with UKONS 24-hour triage standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will possess:
  • Registered Nurse status with NMC registration.
  • Extensive expertise in SACT administration and cancer care.
  • A recognized qualification in SACT delivery.
  • An accredited teaching and assessing qualification.
  • Previous experience in management, successfully guiding teams.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, internet, and email.
