We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Design Engineer to join our team at Saftronics. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and commissioning of automation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop automation and control systems using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other technologies.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and validate these systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Generate documentation and SOPs associated with each automation system.
  • Assist tendering and project teams in the development of manhour budgets and programs for software development and delivery.
  • Troubleshoot PLC software code for startup and commissioning activities.
  • Manage the production of FDS documentation to support software production and the end user.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent, with a particular emphasis on electrical, mechanical, electronic, automation, and/or chemical disciplines.
  • A proven background in the design and commissioning of control and electrical systems associated with process automation.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Vision Systems in the process control environment.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Allen Bradley, SIEMENS, Mitsubishi.
  • HMI and SCADA programming and configuration of the following software packages: Wonderware, InTouch, RS View, SIEMENS, Labview, GE Cimplicity.
  • FAT and SATA experience with PLC and Electrical Control Systems.
  • A working knowledge of process systems, P&ID control, and loop tuning.
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel.
