Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our team in Birmingham. As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, working closely with the wider team to meet production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and Unloading: Safely load company products onto trailers in preparation for customer shipments, adhering to safe loading procedures.
- Health and Safety: Use control measures provided for health and safety, including safe systems of work and personal protective equipment, and report any significant hazards or defects.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Accurately complete and manage daily reports as instructed by the Production Superintendent.
- Stock Management: Maintain accurate stock keeping systems for finished reels, ensuring efficient operation and coordination of transport requirements.
- Quality Control: Ensure reel quality and mill/customer standards are maintained, and accurately receipt and store reels from production, customers, and outside sources.
Requirements:
- Previous Experience: Previous warehouse experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Education: 3-5 GCSEs or equivalent is essential.
- Skills: Good working knowledge of general Health and Safety, knowledge of continuous improvement techniques, and strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Licenses: Forklift license (in-house or external) would be advantageous.
