Role Overview:
Key Duties:
- Create and develop façade concepts for diverse building projects, ensuring visual appeal, functionality, and adherence to local building codes.
- Work in conjunction with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of façade designs with overall architectural plans.
- Generate comprehensive drawings, 3D representations, and specifications for façade systems utilizing design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino.
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate project needs, provide technical guidance, and maintain quality assurance throughout the construction process.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends, materials, and technologies in façade architecture.
- Prepare and deliver design presentations to clients, ensuring alignment with their vision and requirements.
- Assist in the formulation of project budgets, timelines, and feasibility analyses.
- Ensure all designs comply with health and safety standards and sustainability practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in façade architecture, with a robust portfolio highlighting previous work.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and other relevant applications.
- Strong grasp of building physics, materials science, and structural engineering principles as they pertain to façades.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a capacity to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a keen sense of aesthetics and design.
- Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently and adhere to deadlines.
- Familiarity with local building regulations and standards in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with sustainable design methodologies and green building certifications.
- Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., RIBA, CIBSE).
- Knowledge of parametric design tools such as Grasshopper.
