Heritage Conservation Architect Position

A prominent conservation and heritage firm is seeking a skilled Conservation Architect to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to their ongoing projects that emphasize historical integrity and architectural excellence.

Established in the mid-20th century, this firm boasts a diverse portfolio that includes residential developments, public spaces, and significant historical sites. Their continued success has led to an expansion of their operations, and they are now looking to strengthen their team with a dedicated Conservation Architect.

Key Responsibilities

Guide and support junior team members while overseeing daily practice activities Spearhead the production of comprehensive drawings and documentation Participate in client consultations throughout the country Contribute knowledge of historical architecture and conservation practices within the team Offer expert guidance on planning applications and pre-application processes Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and other professionals.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in conservation and historic building projects within the UK Strong appreciation for historical design and a solid grasp of contractual practices Proficient in writing historical reports and possessing technical expertise Demonstrated experience in the restoration of listed buildings Professional qualifications such as CA/SCA RIBA; AABC; or equivalent are preferred Membership in the IHBC (Full or Associate) is advantageous Competence in AutoCAD and Photoshop is required In-depth understanding of the planning process and familiarity with relevant environmental and heritage regulations.
