CAD Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team at Solid people. As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for producing technical drawings and designs for our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Producing technical drawings from our designs and re-engineering customer drawings
  • Using a wide range of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Reviewing customer drawings for feasibility
  • Aiding customers with product design
  • Liaising with customers to modify drawings to suit manufacturing processes
  • Producing 2D & 3D drawings of components for in-house use
  • Liaising with factory manager on new parts to meet requirements
  • Liaising with production departments to meet new part development requirements
Requirements:
  • Competent CAD modelling using SolidWorks or similar software
  • Producing detailed production drawing packs for manufacture (DFM & DFMA)
  • Worked within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Can create detailed annotated GAs (General Arrangements) drawings
  • Design knowledge for sheet metal, metalwork, joinery, upholstery, or glazing
  • Able to create detailed Architectural drawings
  • Understanding of the Lift Industry, but not essential
