This role operates under the guidance of the Finance Business Partner and collaborates closely with colleagues across four additional divisions. The finance team dedicated to Women's and Children's Services comprises eight skilled professionals, and your contribution will be essential to both this team and the broader corporate finance department.
The division manages a substantial budget of £105 million and employs approximately 1,400 personnel across two operational units.
The Women's and Children's Services division at our Trust is vibrant and diverse, overseeing urgent and emergency care, maternity services, and elective care pathways in the realm of Women's and Children's health across various locations.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead a team of business unit accountants and management accountants to deliver exceptional service to the leaders and managers within the division. This encompasses all facets of financial oversight, providing expert guidance to business units, assisting budget holders, and collaborating with the wider corporate finance team on complex or contentious matters.
Additionally, you will oversee the production of precise and timely monthly performance reports, including forecasts. This will necessitate a blend of analytical evaluation and effective communication with budget holders to ensure successful delivery and to empower you to influence future management decisions.
Enhancing operational efficiency remains a significant challenge as the Trust embarks on its long-term financial strategy. Your insights into the division's challenges will be instrumental in helping us navigate this journey.
