Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team at Intec Select. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing performant data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources using Apache Spark (ideally in Azure Databricks). You will also be working with other members of the data team and wider business to support delivery of additional project components (API interfaces, Data Models, Data Sharing, ML Endpoints).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Data Ingestion Pipelines
    • Design and implement performant data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources using Apache Spark (ideally in Azure Databricks).
  • Support Data Team and Business
    • Work with other members of the data team and wider business to support delivery of additional project components (API interfaces, Data Models, Data Sharing, ML Endpoints).
  • Deliver and Present Proofs of Concept
    • Deliver and present proofs of concept of key technology components to the wider data team and project stakeholders.
  • Integrate Data Pipelines
    • Integrate the end-to-end data pipelines to take data from source systems to target data repositories ensuring the quality and consistency of data is always maintained.
Requirements
  • Excellent SQL Skills
    • Excellent level of proficiency in writing SQL.
  • Strong SQL and Python Experience
    • Strong SQL and Python experience.
  • Data Management Principles
    • Strong knowledge of Data Management principles in a Lakehouse Architecture.
  • Azure Experience
    • Hands on experience designing and delivering solutions using Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Storage, Azure DevOps.
  • CI/CD Experience
    • Experience managing data solutions deployments using Azure DevOps (CI/CD).
  • Data Modeling Experience
    • Experience on the design of data models (Star Schema) for use in Power BI.
  • ML Pipeline Experience
    • Experience working with Data Scientists to productionise ML pipelines into the overall data platform solution.
Desirable Experience
  • Real-time Pipelines
    • Experience implementing real-time pipelines to power real-time dashboards.
  • Azure Certifications
    • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer certifications.
  • Open-source Tools
    • Experience with open-source tools such as Apache Kafka.
  • Unstructured Data
    • Experience working with unstructured data including voice data.
