This role encompasses national responsibilities and necessitates regular travel across various Royal Mail locations, including Northern Ireland, for at least two days each week.
About the Role
As a Technical Installation Manager, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and executing essential electrical and mechanical projects critical to our operations.
Your Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute projects according to specifications, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints while considering the implications for other projects and operational pipelines.
- Manage all technical elements of the project, ensuring compliance with specifications and current legislation, particularly regarding Health & Safety regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive site assessments to evaluate the scope of electrical and mechanical work, generating detailed cost estimates for stakeholders.
- Draft and distribute necessary method statements and Risk Assessments for each project, along with all relevant documentation, such as CDM and LOTO.
- Supervise and ensure the quality of installation work, monitoring the performance of operatives or subcontractors involved in RME/machine relocations.
- Maintain and oversee the skills database of the team, facilitating ongoing training and development for site commissioning teams to meet current and future company needs.
About You
You are an expert in engineering installation and commissioning, with a proven history of delivering multiple, complex, and technically advanced projects within budget and on schedule. This role requires national travel, with periods away from home to lead and support project initiatives. Fully expensed travel is a requirement as this is a mobile position.
Key Qualifications:
- Preferably NEBOSH certified with a strong track record in CDM and safety management.
- Experience in leading a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, demonstrating the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple concurrent activities.
- Familiarity with managing installations in highly automated settings, particularly conveyor systems.
- Ability to concurrently manage a complex array of project components across various deployment phases.
- Proficient in developing effective working relationships within cross-functional teams and with key internal and external stakeholders in a unionized environment.
- Possess a valid UK driving license.
