Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Herdsperson at our farm in Shropshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Farm Manager with day-to-day duties and taking control of the farm while they are away.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the health and well-being of the herd, prioritizing animal welfare and implementing effective management strategies.
  • Milk the herd to a high standard, working collaboratively with the team to maintain a clean and safe milking environment.
  • Identify and treat illnesses, informing the senior team of any observations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support with dry cow management, calving cows, and colostrum protocols, ensuring the highest standards of animal care.
  • Contribute to the overall maintenance of the farm, including yard work, machine maintenance, and fencing.
Requirements
  • Strong agriculture experience, with a minimum of 2 years of milking experience.
  • Full UK driving license and UK right to work.
  • Foot trimming license preferred.
