The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Survey Delivery Manager, this position is crucial for leading and managing the geoscience team to ensure the successful execution of projects.
The Geoscience Reporting Team Leader plays a vital role within the survey department, overseeing the quality of geophysical data deliverables and final interpretive reports. You will lead a skilled team of onshore and offshore geophysicists, ensuring the highest quality deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, from tendering and planning to offshore operations and final report delivery.
Main Responsibilities
- Formulate, implement, and execute strategies for geophysical data interpretation and reporting.
- Document and execute a QA/QC strategy for geophysical data interpretation and reporting aligned with business objectives to achieve financial, operational, and technological targets.
- Communicate the strategy effectively to all stakeholders, ensuring collective effort towards achieving strategic objectives.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks that may threaten the achievement of strategic objectives.
- Assist in tendering activities by providing insights on geoscience-related tender submissions.
- Lead and manage the geoscience team to produce high-quality data deliverables and reports.
- Ensure all project scopes are delivered safely while meeting financial and scheduling targets.
- Act as the escalation point for project-related incidents, ensuring effective and efficient resolutions.
- Serve as the primary contact for geophysical data and reporting client issues.
- Deploy offshore as necessary to manage survey-related issues.
- Oversee all geoscience-related processes and procedures, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the survey team and the broader organization.
- Support the offshore data backup and ship-to-shore processes to ensure your team receives necessary data for processing and interpretation.
- Ensure all geophysical data is processed, interpreted, and reported in accordance with established procedures, presenting results in a professional and concise manner.
- Generate insightful reports for various audiences within the organization at regular intervals.
You should apply if you have:
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Marine Geophysics / Marine Geology or equivalent.
- Project management qualification (desirable).
- Extensive experience in the acquisition, interpretation, and reporting of geophysical data using industry-standard software.
- Experience in supervising and managing geophysicists.
- Technical understanding of survey technology systems, equipment, and software.
- Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel, Project, and SharePoint.
- Experience working within integrated management systems (ISO).
- Commitment to quality control and assurance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and develop a cohesive team.
