Job Title: Finance Analyst

Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Finance Analyst to join our team. As a Finance Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing financial expertise and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Produce accurate and reliable financial information in line with financial procedures and timetables through own work and collaboration with others.
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Establish effective working relationships with budget holders, ensuring they understand financial issues relevant to their services and assisting them with complex finance queries.
  • Financial Operations: Support the Senior Financial Analyst in budget-setting and maintaining a large portfolio of services across one or more divisions.
  • Financial Improvement: Support Cost and Income Improvement Programme reporting for a defined portfolio of services.
  • Financial Liaison: Liaise with Finance Team staff to ensure timely, accurate monthly financial reporting, investigate variances, and correct errors.
  • Financial Advice: Provide financial information and advice to budget holders, supporting decision-making and referring complex issues to the Senior Financial Analyst.
  • Financial Analysis: Undertake detailed financial analysis to understand variances, including using non-financial data like activity performance against targets.
  • Financial Reporting: Provide monthly summaries of progress against CIIP schemes within areas of responsibility.
  • Financial Compliance: Support production of final accounts by following instructions from the Head of Statutory Accounts regarding year-end procedures.
  • Financial Support: Assist the Cost and Income Accountant in completing business cases, Service Line Reporting, and cost reviews.
  • Financial Understanding: Understand the financial implications of customer contracts and assess compliance with the Contracts team and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Financial Experience: Experience working in a finance team with strong knowledge of financial systems and processes.
  • Financial Skills: Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines while producing accurate financial reports.
  • Financial Tools: Strong understanding of MS Excel, including pivot tables, data filters, sumif, vlookup, and other financial analysis tools.
  • Financial Advice: Experience in providing financial advice and complex data interpretation to non-financial staff.
  • Financial Background: Experience working within an NHS or similar organisation.
