About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join their team at an automotive re-manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing factory efficiency through re-layouts, line balancing, and tooling improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze data to focus on process improvements
  • Conduct various engineering activities for current production programs
  • Identify root causes of problems and implement permanent corrective actions
  • Manage costs, adhere to health and safety, and deliver high-quality customer service
  • Lead continual improvement projects and other related engineering activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (2:1) in engineering, analytical, or numerate disciplines, or equivalent
  • Strong engineering knowledge with practical application skills
  • Logical problem-solving approach
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a process-related engineering role
  • Proven track record of implementing improvements and achieving cost savings
  • Excellent organizational skills and project management experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Experience in designing tools and components, with accurate drawings and overseeing their manufacture
  • Familiarity with compiling and maintaining Bills of Material and ERP system data
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Flexible and reliable, with a hands-on approach
  • Strong customer service awareness
  • Experience working with sub-contractors
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
