About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Grosvenor Casino, Reading South. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the running of the kitchen, identifying and conducting training needs, and ensuring compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in the management and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring a consistently high standard of food production.
  • Supervise the kitchen operation, maintaining a clean, tidy, and hygienic environment, and adhering to health and safety procedures.
  • Identify and report broken or faulty equipment, and ensure safe working practices are followed.
  • Take responsibility during External Hygiene Audits, and action any subsequent recommendations.
  • Train staff to the required standard of food production, and promote ideas to improve business levels.
  • Be conversant with industry trends, and adapt to changing department priorities and procedures.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, and ability to use all equipment effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
