About the Role

CRA GROUP LIMITED is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Young Persons Advisor to join our team. As a Young Persons Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting care experienced young people to overcome difficulties and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain empathic, purposeful relationships with care experienced young people and their families or carers to facilitate meaningful and sustainable change.
  • Work closely with young people, their families or carers, and professional networks to identify and address their needs, ensuring stability in placement and permanency for children.
  • Contribute to the development of a culture of trauma-informed practice, promoting Motivational Practice and improving the quality of relationships with children and young people.
  • Deliver an efficient and effective leaving care service, supporting the outcomes of The Children and Social Work Act 2017, Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000, and the Children Act 1989.
  • Assess risk and devise multi-agency plans for young people, working closely with their professional network, parents, and/or carers.
  • Improve outcomes for children and young people by supporting them to come to terms with their losses, experience reparative parenting, establish meaningful relationships, and promote their education, training, and employment opportunities.
  • Develop your skills as a practitioner through engaging with support services, including training, working closely with embedded clinicians, individual reflective, and group supervision.
  • Work with the professional network to identify permanent placements for all young people at the earliest possible opportunity, ensuring the right support is offered at the right time.

Requirements

  • Experience of working with young people, children, and/or their families is essential.
  • Experience of relevant legislation, national standards, policy, and practice, including current issues in safeguarding and the provision of leaving care services is essential.
  • A relevant vocational qualification - at least to NVQ4 is essential.

Working Hours and Requirements

Working hours: 35 hours per week. Registration and good standing with the Social Work England as well as an Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Child & adult) is required for this role.
