Management Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our finance function, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of our financial processes and contributing to the overall success of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management Accounts: Assist in the timely and accurate production of management accounts, ensuring that financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Financial Systems: Support the implementation of Management Information systems and provide real-time financial updates to stakeholders.
  • Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet and nominal ledger reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of our financial records.
  • Ledger Management: Ensure accurate posting of sales and purchase ledger invoices and payments, maintaining the integrity of our financial systems.
  • Budgeting: Aid in the annual business planning cycle and budget preparation, working closely with the Finance Director to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Income Reconciliation: Reconcile income from F&B outlets, donations, and memberships, ensuring that all revenue streams are accurately accounted for.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post journals within month-end deadlines, maintaining the accuracy of our financial records.
  • Collaboration: Develop collaborative relationships with other departments to understand their financial needs and provide support as required.
  • Year-End Accounts: Assist in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and work with auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Cashflow Monitoring: Monitor and report on the organisation's cashflow, providing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Payroll: Ensure payroll is prepared and submitted to the outsourced payroll service on time, maintaining the accuracy of our financial records.
  • VAT and Gift Aid: Prepare VAT and Gift Aid returns for review, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified, part or fully qualified accountant with a strong background in financial management.
  • Experience with SAGE 50 is preferred, but not essential.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines, working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience in a similar role or related area, with a strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Excel, with the ability to analyse complex financial data and provide insights to inform business decisions.
