Senior Cockpit User Interface Design Engineer (HMI / UX)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cockpit User Interface Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Typhoon Cockpit Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing an intuitive and user-friendly Human Machine Interface (HMI) for the Eurofighter Typhoon Cockpit.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define HMI requirements and specifications
  2. Design and develop an HMI that meets industry standards and regulations
  3. Conduct user research to gain insights into user behaviours and preferences
  4. Create wireframes and mock-ups to visualize HMI concepts
  5. Test HMI designs on hardware and software platforms
  6. Evaluate and improve HMI designs based on user feedback and usability testing

Requirements:

Essential:

  1. A Degree in a STEM subject, or equivalent relevant experience/qualifications
  2. Ability to work in a fast-paced and innovative environment
  3. Excellent communication & collaboration skills
  4. Experience of Human Factors, and/or Systems Engineering

Desirable:

  1. Education Modules in Human Factors, and/or Systems Engineering
  2. Experience of Computer Graphics, and/or Software Engineering
  3. Experience in designing any type of User Interface
  4. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards
