Position: Recreation Operations Supervisor Trainee

Salary:
£25,500 - £27,500 per annum (based on qualifications and experience)

As a Recreation Operations Supervisor, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to oversee the management and functionality of our esteemed Sports and Leisure Facilities.

Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the facilities to the highest standards while ensuring that outstanding customer service is consistently provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all personnel on duty adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Guarantee sufficient lifeguarding during aquatic sessions.
  • Perform cleaning tasks as necessary to uphold exceptional presentation standards, in conjunction with the Cleaning team.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure effective maintenance and cleanliness of the premises.
  • Manage the opening and closing of the facility according to the schedule.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and safe usage of the facilities.
  • Operate and manage the swimming pool systems in line with operational guidelines to maintain water quality.
  • Monitor the swimming pool's performance through various assessments, including bacteriological and chemical testing.
  • Ensure routine maintenance and inspections of equipment are conducted appropriately.
  • Assist in supervising contractors regarding health and safety compliance.
  • Familiarize yourself with the organization's Health & Safety Policy and its application across all facilities.
  • Fulfill any other reasonable management requests.

Preferred Qualifications:

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is desirable; if not already held, successful completion during the probationary period is required, along with passing a swimming assessment during the interview.

Experience in a leisure environment, particularly with swimming pools, is advantageous.

Training in the following areas is beneficial: Pool Plant Operations, First Aid, Manual Handling, COSHH, and Child Protection.

Candidates must be capable of completing the following swimming test components:

  • Jump or dive into deep water.
  • Swim 100 meters continuously on both front and back in deep water.
  • Tread water for 30 seconds.
  • Perform a surface dive to the pool's floor.

This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, distributed over seven days, including early, late, and weekend shifts. The Duty Manager will be expected to cover one weekend every three weeks, with potential overtime as approved by management.
