About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and supportive team in a new rotational role. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and gain specialist clinical skills, support and supervise others, and participate in service development.

Main Responsibilities

The rotations will be 9 months and include:

  • Stroke
  • Neuro Rehab
  • Trauma and Orthopaedics
  • Medical & Surgical
  • Elderly Care

You will need to be able to work in a fast-paced and busy environment, have excellent communication skills, and have experience of an acute hospital setting.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational therapy
  • HCPC Registration

Desirable

  • Member of Professional Body
  • Member of special interest group
  • Post-graduate training in relevant short courses

Experience

Essential

  • Post-qualification experience in a physical setting
  • Evidence of personal and professional development
  • Experience in working as part of an MDT
  • Experience of leading and influencing others, including OT colleagues
  • Experience in leading and contributing to Audit
  • Experience in service improvement
  • An understanding of common medical, and surgical conditions, care of the elderly, neurology, trauma and orthopaedics
  • Application of OT theory in the treatment of medical, surgical, orthopaedics, neurology, care of the elderly conditions in an inpatient setting

Desirable

  • Experience of acute inpatient treatment
  • Supervision of junior staff and students

Skills

Essential

  • Experience and commitment to multi-disciplinary working
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
