Site Maintenance Technician

Salary: £38,377.01

Job Overview:

This role is essential for executing both scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks across various locations.

As the primary contact for all maintenance-related concerns at your designated sites, you will be responsible for initiating requests for specialized assistance when necessary.

The main objective of this position is to perform technical repairs and preventive maintenance tasks. You will ensure that all technical documentation and compliance records are consistently updated and accurate.

All tasks must be completed to the highest standards, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness while adhering to all Health and Safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within set timelines, ensuring all required documentation is accurately completed.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to service requests from the Helpdesk, assessing job requirements and performing necessary repairs.
  • Prioritize maintenance and repair tasks to meet agreed timelines and response expectations.
  • Conduct maintenance for fire alarm systems and perform emergency lighting tests and repairs.
  • Follow the established purchase order procedures.
  • Identify irreparable faults in equipment and machinery, promptly informing the Line Manager with recommendations for suitable replacements.
  • Maintain compliance documentation, ensuring it is always current and accurate.
  • Inform on-site management of any repair and maintenance issues that may disrupt site operations.
  • Conduct surveys and prepare reports as required by management.
  • Perform minor modifications and installations within your technical expertise, adhering to current specifications.
  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned by management.
  • Attend training sessions as necessary to keep your skills aligned with technical advancements.
  • Adhere to the company's Health and Safety Policy at all times.
  • Represent the company professionally and foster positive relationships with both City and client personnel.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
  • Collaborate with company and client staff to maintain established quality standards.
  • Comply with any other reasonable requests or instructions from management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum education of GCSE/Standard Grade level; ideally NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/maintenance.
  • City and Guilds 17th or 18th Edition certification.
  • Understanding of three-phase electrical systems and their applications.
  • Capability to maintain and repair a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment, such as commercial ovens, dishwashers, and microwaves.
  • Quality of repairs and maintenance.
  • Efficiency and speed of work.
  • Timely response to service requests.
  • Achievement of PPM schedules within agreed timelines.
  • Adherence to Health and Safety policies.
  • Positive feedback from clients and colleagues.
