About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our People Services Team as a Talent Acquisition and Retention Specialist. This exciting opportunity will involve supporting the onboarding of new employees, managing recruitment processes, and providing HR-related advice and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Selection
    • Manage and assist in staff recruitment, ensuring that all vacancies are authorized and processed in a timely manner.
    • Ensure that all applications are reviewed and processed in accordance with our policies and procedures.
    • Obtain references and conduct Disclosure & Barring Service checks as required.
    • Support new employees during the probationary period, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
    • Manage initial warm-up calls with potential future talent.
    • Oversee interview panels and participate in selection processes as required.
  • HR Administration
    • Update and maintain the computerized database (SIP) and manual personnel records in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
    • Ensure that all new staff have individual records initiated promptly and that the Finance Department is provided with necessary information.
    • Write confirmation letters to staff who resign and update SIP accordingly.
    • Complete changes and variation letters for designated work areas.
    • Action fact-only reference requests.
  • Employee Experience
    • Conduct inductions with new staff, including meeting and greeting, delivering the People Service Induction, and supporting new employees with any issues that may arise.
    • Update the staffing matrix for the People Services Business Partner in preparation for Registered Managers and Service Managers' meetings.
    • Liaise with the People Services Business Partner regarding pregnant staff and staff on maternity leave.
    • Notify the IT Department/Payroll and Training Departments of all new staff.
  • General
    • Conduct exit interviews to monitor staff retention.
    • Arrange and support the People Services Business Partner with capability meetings and probationary review meetings.
    • Support the People Services Business Partner with disciplinary and grievance matters as required.
    • Support the People Services Business Partner with staff sickness absence queries.
    Requirements
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in recruitment, HR, or a related field.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
