Role Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Finance Manager and be instrumental in providing the management team with precise and timely financial insights. This includes the creation of visual representations and detailed reports that facilitate informed decision-making.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Assisting the Finance Manager and Head of Finance in delivering accurate financial management information.
  • Planning and organizing your workload to meet monthly and annual deadlines while adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Acting as a crucial liaison between finance and budget holders, addressing budgetary control matters and contributing to the budget planning process.
  • Managing non-routine tasks independently, often under tight deadlines, requiring adaptability and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will be pursuing an accountancy qualification, aiming to achieve membership with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or an equivalent body. Essential qualifications and skills include:

  • AAT qualification or progress towards it.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with computerized ledger systems.
  • Strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Experience in a management accounts role and knowledge of contract accounting.
