About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Health, Safety, and Environmental Champion. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for championing health, safety, and environmental excellence at our site and in partnership with line management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement a Comprehensive Health and Safety Management System: Design, implement, and maintain a best-in-class health and safety management system that identifies, addresses, and manages risk, reducing accidents and costs.
- Conduct Audits, Investigations, and Root Cause Analysis: Conduct regular audits, investigations, and root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure Compliance with Health and Safety Legislation: Ensure that our site complies with all relevant health and safety legislation, including NI, UK, and EU regulations.
- Lead by Example: Demonstrate excellent leadership and influencing qualities, with the ability to motivate and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Communicate Effectively: Develop and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, including employees, management, and external partners.
- Manage Risk and Opportunities: Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities, ensuring that our site remains a safe and healthy place to work.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with line management, employees, and external partners to ensure that health, safety, and environmental objectives are met.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay informed about the latest health, safety, and environmental developments, best practices, and regulations.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH Certificate or Similar Qualification: Hold a NEBOSH certificate or equivalent qualification in health and safety.
- Experience in a Large-Scale Manufacturing Operation: Have a minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in a large-scale manufacturing operation.
- Strong Analytical and Organizational Skills: Possess strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Excellent Communication and Leadership Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage stakeholders.
- Ability to Work Independently: Be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
