The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems for our energy storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Develop innovative mechanical designs using CAD software, create detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical components and assemblies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and constraints.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts, prepare test plans and documentation for DVP activities, analyze test data, and modify designs to meet performance and safety standards.
  • Project Management: Manage design projects from concept through production, develop project timelines, track progress, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manufacturing Support: Work closely with manufacturing teams/external suppliers to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective, assist in the development of manufacturing processes and tooling, and provide technical support during the production phase.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement design improvements to enhance product performance, reduce cost, and improve reliability, and stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements, and prepare and review engineering documentation for compliance and quality assurance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred) or an equivalent qualification and significant related experience.
  • Experience: Strong experience in mechanical design engineering, proven experience with CAD software and simulation tools, and experience in product development and lifecycle management.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software, knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes, and familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
