Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll professional to join our dedicated Payroll team in the Cheltenham office. The role is a full-time position offering hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities:- Process weekly and monthly payrolls, including starters, leavers, personal changes, holiday pay, statutory payments, and BACS payments via the payroll software.
- Manage a portfolio of clients and provide exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with the existing members of the payroll team to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation and regulations.
- Minimum of 2 years' payroll experience within a professional practice environment.
- Knowledge of RTI, Auto Enrolment, and the payrolling of benefits.
- Ability to understand and break down payslips and re-perform tax calculations manually.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working in a finance role, preferably in a practice background or with international experience.
- Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of clients and projects.
- Highly organized and able to thrive under pressure.
- Excellent client service and communication skills.
- Understanding of internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
- Great people management skills and a team player.
- IT skills, including good understanding of Excel, Word, Microsoft, and accounting systems.
