About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Counsellor to join our team at Nuffield Health, working with individuals who have common mental health problems. As a Counsellor, you will bring a passion for delivering high-quality care and a commitment to supporting people in their recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and support individuals with common mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery.
  • Undertake patient-centered interviews to identify areas for change and recovery, and make accurate assessments of risk to self and others.
  • Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to Nuffield Health referral protocols, and refer clients to relevant support agencies or back into the business for further treatment.
  • Ensure maintenance of standards of practice according to Nuffield Health and relevant regulations, and stay up-to-date on new recommendations and guidelines.
  • Protect client confidentiality at all times, adhering to information governance guidelines.
  • Stay aware of and up-to-date with advances in treatment for common mental health problems.
  • Keep up-to-date with continuing professional development and maintain specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models.
Requirements

We are looking for a Counsellor with:

  • A bachelor's degree in counselling or counselling psychology.
  • Minimum two years' post-degree experience in counselling.
  • Full Accreditation with the BACP or UKCP, or Accredited Professional Status with the NCPS (or COSCA in Scotland).
  • Experience of working with people who have common mental health problems, and familiarity with a step-care approach to therapy.
