About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Technologist to join our team at Harrison Scott Associates. As a Packaging Technologist, you will be responsible for ensuring that our client's packaging meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive CSR Packaging Roadmap, aligning with our client's sustainability goals.
    • Lead the innovation and knowledge management for packaging and recycling, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and regulations.
    • Review new pack formats for recyclability, reducing waste and improving packaging efficiency.
  • Structural Integrity
    • Ensure all pack formats meet structural integrity, brand alignment, and on-shelf presence standards.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to improve packaging design and reduce costs.
  • Print and Colour Management
    • Work with designers and suppliers to achieve optimal print and colour results.
    • Develop and implement colour management strategies to ensure consistency across all packaging formats.
    • Review and approve pre and post-production samples for colour and print compliance.
  • Artwork and Compliance
    • Verify artwork for correct layout, print specifications, and recycling information.
    • Check electronic proofs for accuracy and compliance.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve packaging efficiency.
    • Contribute to process improvements and ad-hoc projects as required.
    Requirements
    • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Packaging Technologist in the retail/FMCG field, preferably in the Health and Beauty sector.
    • Strong communication and project management skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Proven track record of successful packaging projects.
    • Understanding of commercial implications of packaging design and specification.
