About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our team at Bright Horizons East Barnet Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding care to all children in our setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead our nursery teams to deliver exceptional care and education to children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and performance in the nursery, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Work in partnership with Recruitment and HR to ensure our nursery is fully staffed, promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Role model and mentor your team to ensure the highest quality early childhood practice and experience for all children, including those with special needs.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, overseeing the day-to-day running of the nursery and management of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Collaborate with HR to identify succession plans for the nursery team, nurturing and developing a pipeline of high-performing colleagues.
  • Work with the Regional Director, Finance, and Marketing teams to develop commercial plans and strategies to drive growth and revenue within the nursery.
  • Engage with the Local Authority to understand the local offer, supporting best practice in all areas of the nursery.
Requirements
  • Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
  • Experience in an Early Years leadership role, ideally as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, or Assistant Manager.
  • Experience of participating in regulatory inspections, leading to a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcome.
  • Proven track record of developing high-performing teams, with effective regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and delivery of high-quality pedagogy.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and legislative requirements for working with children.
  • Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with colleagues, parents, and external partners.
