Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Property Accountant in maintaining accounting records
  • Carry out basic accounting procedures to ensure financial information is accurate
  • Interact with stakeholders in a professional manner
  • Advising Property Directors on accounting issues
  • Check properties, units, and tenant details on the property management system

  • Prepare monthly ground rent returns for submission to Freehold clients
  • Draft monthly service charge income and expenditure reports
  • Draft variance analysis reports and highlight budgetary anomalies
  • Process journals reallocating expenditure as necessary
  • Support on-site development teams with Propman system and purchase order best practice
  • Oversee bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Support the work of the purchase ledger team
  • Deal with daily transactions for on-site petty cash
  • Monitor development scheme cashflow and forecasting
  • Bill periodic ground rent, service charges, insurance, and other charges to lessees or occupiers
  • Bill directly recoverable charges to lessees/occupiers
  • Assist with the service charge audit review at year end
  • Send out service charge accounts to leaseholders
Requirements
  • At least 3 years' experience of managing service charge accounting
  • Part qualified ACA, ACCA, AAT and actively working towards a professional qualification, or qualified by experience
  • Interest in the property management sector and ability to engage with colleagues in an effective manner
  • Competent with accounting software packages and knowledge of property management software would be an advantage
