Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team at Wincanton. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing the daily planning of store deliveries and Backhaul collections. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that all planned daily resources are accurate and that communication with stakeholders is effective. You will also be responsible for monitoring performance and efficiency, and for identifying and reporting any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all volume through Plan-It system and ensure that it is planned into the appropriate routing software and communicated to the business.
• Manage resource requests to ensure that all planned daily resources are accurate.
• Manage Health & Safety on site, including creating a culture that is H&S conscious and reporting accordingly. Drive the use of STAR reporting and awareness to reduce the number of accidents and incidents.
• Ensure reports and details are accurate for the receiving audience.
• Be financially aware and ensure profitability is maximised by ensuring plans are efficient.
• Manage customer relationships, ensuring that communication is good, and issues are highlighted and dealt with quickly and appropriately. Suggest improvements and work with the Customers team to maximise efficiency.
• Ensure all decisions are taken with full knowledge of the P&L implications to the business and that the team is aware of financial performance.

Requirements

• Successful delivery of operational and service performance in line with Health and Safety excellence and KPIs.
• Effective planning and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to identify and report issues.
• Ability to drive P&L performance to analyse statistics and react quickly.
• Previous experience/knowledge of Transport Management systems desirable.
• Operationally focused and able to deliver and exceed expectations.
• Demonstrable experience in Microsoft Office Applications.
