About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Research Nurse to join our Renal and Oesophagogastric Research Team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating clinical trials, providing expert care to patients, and working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate clinical trials, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and good clinical practice (GCP)
  • Provide expert care to patients participating in clinical trials, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality research, including collaboration with clinicians, researchers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clinical trial sponsors, research organizations, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research protocols, including feasibility assessments and risk management
  • Ensure accurate and timely data collection and reporting, including participation in monitoring and audit activities
  • Provide education and training to non-research staff on clinical trial procedures and protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of research-related policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council
  • First degree or relevant clinical experience
  • Post-graduate qualification in oncology and/or clinical research (desirable)
  • Experience of oncology nursing and working in a clinical research environment (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to demonstrate evidence of service improvement and contribute to the development of research-related policies and procedures
